This may well sound like a cliché but - want a marriage made in heaven? Then take your inspiration from Sonu and Eva Shivdasani.

It was love at first sight when the tycoon and top international model met in Monte Carlo, and on their subsequent honeymoon in the Maldives they determined to build a resort that would sum up their feelings both for the archipelago and each other. The result was Soneva Gili.

This, and the sister resort, Soneva Fushi, were largely designed by Eva. Guests are encouraged to cast away their shoes and their cares the moment they step out of the seaplane from Male. Highly eco-friendly, the 60 rooms and villas make much of their bathrooms, which are gorgeously spacious and decorated.
A weekly cocktail party on an offshore sandbank is a mark of this resort's class, as are the tailor-made one-on-one spa treatments. If you're not on honeymoon here, you'll certainly feel as though you are!
